Wayne State University's Center for Urban Responses to Environmental Stressors (CURES), with support from the Wayne State University Multidisciplinary Research Group Incubator Program, announces a request for pilot project proposals.

CURES is a cross-campus, community-centered initiative that has been established to develop the leadership and research capacity to identify, evaluate, and mitigate Detroit's environmental health challenges in close collaboration with the community and environmental policy makers.

This RFA solicits applications that address the following research themes:

1. Research that is focused on understanding or mitigating the effects of the environment on human health.
2. Research that is focused on developing improved engagement between CURES and the community.

CURES plans to fund 5 pilot projects, with each project funded for approximately 2.2 years at a total amount of $150,000 indirect costs.

Any CURES member is eligible to apply for pilot project funding. In addition, any non-CURES member who would like to submit a proposal will be required to become a CURES member and abide by the responsibilities noted in the RFA.
